Garden Tools
So, you're buying a new garden, or selling one, either way it's time to get things tidied up. I find that very few tools are needed to tend a garden. Here is a list of the ones that I use every day:

Hand pruner
I use an inexpensive Corona while many of my friends prefer the pricier Felco—a belt and sheath helps to keep it handy.

Pruning Saw
Felco 6" folding saw.

Cape Cod Weeder
My favorite weeding tool—I'm using one made by Snow & Nealley these days and like it very much.

Knee Pads
These become more important every year—Fiskars makes some that are inexpensive and durable.

Gloves
I think most people would agree that those latex coated fabric ones are great.

Spring Rake
I have found that a light weight one which costs around $10.00 is fine—be sure to adjust the handle length to fit your height.

Broom
Nylon bristles seem to hold up best in the garden.

Buckets
I use the plastic 5 gallon ones for collecting weeds and other small bits.

Tarp
Those blue nylon ones are tough and only around $3.00 for the 6 X 8 foot size.

This basic group of tools has helped me accomplish many days of garden care for many years and should be useful to you as you care for and refine your own garden.
